What fun for people to think I look so young for my 50’s! It happens often, especially if I am at a Doctor’s office. The nurse will look at my chart, awkwardly look up at me, and then look down at the chart again. Occasionally, if I am ordering a cocktail, or at a grocery store purchasing a bottle of wine, I am asked to present my driver’s license. Most often the conversation starts with a compliment directed at my skin looking so young, and again, inquiring if I am truly the age that my license indicates. Afterwards, I hear about how they should do something about their skin, and with a sigh and/or a sweet smile will comment how looking young would be difficult for them. They attribute me looking so young to my genes or my nationality. I want to scream and shout that they can also have great younger looking skin with less wrinkles.
Age is no barrier to beauty. During my early years I modeled and had professionals apply my makeup. While the goal was for me to look glamorous, the heavy makeup took me a while to remove and I did not feel natural. I feel that less is more and prefer a sheer and natural look. I take photos with my iPhone, just selfies no Photoshop, no special lens, no soft focus, no heavy foundations, and no heavy eye make. Just me!
I am proud to share my ageless beauty secrets. I want the photos to show that you can look gorgeous at any age. I implore you to take time to look after your wonderful, beautiful self. Your skin will glow and you will pridefully shine. In the end, beauty comes not from the superficial things about you, it comes from looking after yourself really well, and much more importantly, from whom you are.
